Welcome to Small Dramas! When I joined Substack, I wanted to share essays, mostly reviews of movies I enjoyed and occasional observations I made about life. Something I’ve learned along the way is that analyzing and critiquing art, while super engaging, can take the fun out of creating it. The critical lens becomes the primary lens, making it difficult to simply let go and fully immerse yourself in the creative process.
I started Small Dramas as an outlet. I love telling stories, especially about intimate human moments. The human experience is weird, baffling, exhausting, and exhilarating. Stories help us connect with each other, but also ourselves. I am excited to share with you all, so please keep an open mind.
